The ARNP provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizinghealth promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individualsto diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with the hospital.
The Palliative Care Consult Service seeks to add an ARNP to adjunct the team ensuring adequate follow-up and compliance with complex pain and symptom management that make a significant difference in patient comfort, family stress and the potential for repeat hospitalization. This additional resource will also facilitate timely transitions within the hospital and coordinate with community agencies to ensure safe trade offs and consistent approaches when patients are transferred to home, hospice, nursing home or assisted living.
The past year, 2014, the palliative care team saw 1732 patients and YTD has seen over 600 patients.
