A traffic control flagger will control motorists and pedestrian traffic on the job sites. Assist daily traffic pattern set-up and removal. Maintain flagger certifications. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Proper set up of AFADS System or general traffic control.
Ensure the convenient, safe and orderly movement of vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic
Assist Crew Leader and/or Foreman with set-up of various traffic control patterns
Remove/Tear-down traffic control patterns as worksite requires
Maintain clean job site, including materials and tools
Loads and unloads trucks and hauls or hoists materials
Complies with all company and OSHA mandated safety and health guidelines
Wears all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Assists as laborer during non-peak or downtime
Liaison with Sub-Contractors to ensure proper operations
Performs additional duties as assigned

Carry up to 50 lbs, communicate and work in harsh outdoor conditions. Maintain safety at all times!!!

Job Requirements:
  • Assisting with worksite traffic control including installing and maintaining all traffic control devices
  • Perform traffic control and flagging activities
  • Setting up traffic control closures and maintaining traffic control devices on a highway construction project
  • Designing temporary traffic control in a work zone
  • Coordinating traffic and transportation engineering studies, assisting with preparing designs for traffic engineering projects, conducting traffic studies and collecting traffic engineering data in the field
  • Analyzing current and future traffic needs
  • Perform and manage traffic management activities
  • Break-down all traffic control devices in work zones
  • Assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electronically controlled traffic control devices
  • Assisting outside with traffic control
  • Managing traffic plans in the Bay Area
  • Remove and repair temporary and permanent traffic control devices
  • Maintain traffic controls in all assigned work zones
  • Unloading in the tipping area and maintain traffic control in the area
  • Utilizing warning signs, traffic cones, barrels
  • Set out signs and cones around work areas to divert traffic
  • Direct traffic into available parking spots
  • Manage the relationships with subcontracted traffic control organizations to supplement the work requirements
  • Inspect traffic control devices to ensure functionality, placement, and safety compliance
  • Maintain and repairs traffic signal control units and associated system components and control and/or associated monitoring equipment
